About Me:
We have been engaged in A.T. research and development in Bolivia for 25 years. I am an appropriate technology inventor with 6 (Bolivian) patents on a.t. designs including a turbine power control device, greenhouse, spinning machine, ram pump, ferrocement reinforcing material, and rope pump.
We have a California registered non-profit dedicated to a.t. called Campo Nuevo, and a 17 year old volunteer program to aid disabled Bolivian children called Los Amigos del Hogar, as well as a 30 year old textile business, Artesania Sorata.
Have you lived or worked in a developing country? What did you learn?
We have lived in developing countries for most of our lives.
We lived in Colombia and Peru, as well as Bolivia.
I spent two years in Nepal, Northern India, and Kashmir where
I learned that modern technology passed most of these people by.
Please describe the skills and abilities you have that you think will be useful for this project.
The ability to use commonly available materials for apprpriate technology inventions.
What should other members of this network know about you, your background, or your experience?
We are fomer rural N.California residents from west Sonoma, and co-founded a natural childbirth community there in the seventies.
What critical concerns or issues should Piclopedia not fail to address?
The testing and development of a.t. designs and making them available to those who need them.
I would like to share design work with others with similar skills and interests.
I am interested to see how the Internet can be used to do this.
Please describe any ideas you have for Piclopedia that might excite other members.
We have a number of proven designs and designs in progress.
Right now I am working on an ungerground ferrocement tank design.
A very low-cost, long lasting, efficient 5 h.p. range waterpowered turbine made from commonly available materials.
A straw chopper for a mushroom farm.
We are interested in using waterpower for directly running shop tools. This can be seen on Youtube.

Welcome, Ron and Diane! I'm glad to see you here! And glad to see more about your backgrounds and goals.

Apropos of your textile business, I will send you a separate email that might stir some juices.

Onward!

Dan

I would love to know more about your a.t. for application on our off the grid eco community here in Panama.
Thanks,
Dr. Rima
